whiskey wednesdays

why? because nothing is as catchy when a word starts with 'w'

okay. so its been a week since i joined
and i've failed to blog every day, 3 times.
fuggit.

every week, once again for anyone that reads lolol, i'll post 5 facts/interests about myself
a little self indulgence. -blush-

!my dream when i was growing up was to become a popstar.
... or britney spears, whatever came first.
@i really enjoy painting my nails (:
i spend way too much time on them when i should be doing something else D:
perhaps i'll start to take pictures of my nails and post them as little tidbit phots.
they are nothing fantastic but i'm quite pleased with the outcome
#i've auditioned for the beat 94.5 singing competition, but unfortunately nerves got to me
$i'm the most opinionated in my family, go figure.
%i have an older sister who i secretly look up to and admire.

american idol

ooooookay.
so i'm going to dedicate this post to ai

JUDGES:
i loooove simon. i hate how he always get boo'ed X_X it's just because every reality/ show on TV has to have an antagonist
and americans hate the bad guy!
fuck lol.
the only reason he is so upfront with these contestants is because he's providing (constructive) criticism and looking at each individual on a profession level.
yeah, he is harsh - but he's so genuine when he recognizes talent in someone.
the music industry today is fluttered with one hit wonders and it's his job on the show to filter through them all!

i am super impressed with ellen as a judge!
i think she delivers the appropriate feedback necessary assessing both the entertainment value as someone with no professional music background and on a business level looking at how successful they would be in the long run.

my favourite contestants:

Crystal Bowersox - damn that momma can sing! she has such a pure voice and a strong heart! i think she knows where she wants to be in the music industry confidently. she's set herself a part from other musicians not following the trend of being 'top 40' but still has the star quality necessary to keep her songs on the billboard. i really loved her rendition of 'midnight train to georgia' and i thought it was so beautiful to see her in a dress and heels. simon mentioned that she shouldn't allow herself to be sucked into the superficial, consumerism of today - which i totally agree with - but as long as bsox is comfortable in that element, then why not (:

Michael Lynch - big miiiiike (: his song choices are impeccable and he really knows who he wants to be as an artist. he has a harming personality and really seems like a weightlifting teddybear (: i'm not sure how far he will get in the competition - but he definitely deserves to be in the top 5! he surprised people during the auditions and i'm proud of his success!

Andrew Garcia - being a fan and subscriber of his youtube since his early days, i've really seen ag grow and improve. i am in LOVE with his voice. his covers are so zany and cute; and the raspiness of his words :3 i haven't been so impressed with his song choices after making it to the top 24, which is really disappointing - but i don't think winning ai would be right for him. to get this far in the competition is good enough to get recognized by studios and labels, and that's all contestants really need. just to be recognized.

my least favourite / hated contestants...

Katie Stevens - i'm sorry, i've never liked her as a contestant. she sings from the back of her throat which gives it too deep of a sound and way too mature of one for a 17 year old. (she also looks like she was on Family channel) i think lilly scott should still be in the competition. it really broke my heart to see her go ):

Didi Benami - there's something about her voice that really sticks out. and not in the good way either. i don't think she is talented. i think she is a three note singer. she reminds me exactly of the girl in american idol last year - with the blonde hair who got by with her looks and her niceness. this is a singing competition! the only thing i want to see is a performance and your personality!

few words:

Tim Urban - everyone is so mean towards him D: i don't think he has the vocal chops alike the other contestants - but he's trying man!! maybe he wants to go home but he keeps getting voted for. you have to give him props for being able to get up in front of national television, 4 judges that don't agree with him, and a crowd in the kodak theater (?) i think he, in ellen's words, is adorable!

Siobhan Magnus - i am super undecided about this chica. she doesn't look like the voice she projects. which kind of bothers me personally. i know it shouldn't but it does D: i do think she can sing, and she has chosen beautiful pieces so far that represent her voice beautifully! ... but it's also kind of annoying at the same time too? there's a certain familiarity with her voice within songs that gets too repetitive. this week her performance was terrible i thought. yeah she said she wanted to challenge herself to prove she could do it, but she had to have known the risk she took and the notes she missed. it is a tough song, her rendition was full of the wails but come on sweetie - you gotta play the game to stay in the game.

i don't have much to say for Lee Dewzye, Casey James & Aaron Kelly; except..
sounds the same & has no connection between him and the audience, picks songs that sound the same but is a good performer, seems too young

this season hasn't been so monumental for ai's history but i guess each season has it's own light.

XO; i love ryan seacrest. he's dreamy.
XOXO; i loveeeeed posh as a guest judge :3
XOXOXO; i super loved neilpatrickharris as a guest judge toooooo. eeeeeeeeeeeh (:

$; the tasks are so creative and innovative!

i can't wait until tonight's episode.

"show me the money!"

self indulgence

bleeeech.
i understand everyone's need to create life goals for themselves, challenges even!
but .. world's fattest mom?

..come again?

oh, sorry let me correct myself.
she's aiming, ideally, for world's fattest woman.
but will just as happily settle for the world's fattest mom.

first of all;
why do you need to be the world's fattest anything?
i'm sure she must be a cinch in for the world's fattest mom because clearly no family would support such a decision.
she's a 42 year old mother of two; preschool daughter and a teenage son.
i was watching the insider last night and they featured her story.
donna simpson, the mom, has a clear picture in her mind.
bigger means more beautiful to her;
but the way she is eating, and the amount she is eating to attain her goal, may leave her children with no one to look up to
at 600 pounds it also may not be the easiest to just turn your life around and suddenly become kirstie allie (and her plan to lose her weight) but that doesn't mean you eat yourself to death.

-sigh- what may be even worse than her self-motivation
is the fact that our generation is broadcasting her story.
i assume they are featuring her, in .. shock and awe,
but somehow i feel we are only encouraging her actions by providing her with that media light.

same goes for ms. octo mom
like really? do you need to have 14 babies?
not even just that - the media attention she is getting is disgusting.
she should only have as many children (that goes for everyone actually..) according to how she can provide for her family.
i don't think her lifestyle should be a charity case.
donate money where it is necessary and needed.
Cancer research, Diabetic health, AIDs in impoverished countries - but donating it to support a mother with 14 children?
she chose to have each and every one of those babies - it was no accident.
she should take full responsibilities for her actions and in doing so should know what is needed to provide a healthy, caring environment for her family.

AUGH. same with that TLC show
"19 kids and counting"
WHY.

our generation is disgusting.
our self indulgence is only a reflection of what our values appear to be.
plastic surgery, juvenille diabetes, lung cancer, drug addiction, drinking&driving and the list goes on.
we have this appalling mindset that
'i can do whatever i want. it's my body i know what's best for me. i'm invincible.'

i hope everyone makes healthy decisions in their life
healthy not always necessarily meaning "organic!" "vegetables!" "a straight edge lifestyle!"
but one where actions are done in moderation,

avahontas

XO; sam worthington definitely looks kind of like jason bateman at times.
XOXO; sam worthington is so adorable.
XOXOXO; so is jason bateman.

i
finally watched avatar before it made its move off the movie screen.
i never had a desire to watch it when it was first coming out for many reasons:
a) i didnt really understand the trailer lolol
b) it never appealed to me graphically? - i loved FF, but thats cause all of it was CGI, i'm not a big fan between the switcharoo of reality to CGI

i was prompted to watch avatar in 3D or at the imax theater -
but i just went to a regular one with the madre & auntie.
i definitely was impressed with the graphics and the movie was very captivating

however - i would have been just as pleased with not watching it at all.
the plot was super predictable beyond reason and grew too close in comparison with pocahontas.
indigenous people, another 'world' or different realm, sacred rituals (arranged marriages) broken the likes of another race and a creature sidekick. (raccoon/wolves vs dragonbird?)
i left the movie theater sort of unimpressed i guess?
it definitely was one to be appreciated on the big screen - but still, the hype around the movie was way different than what i saw.
my madre & auntie really enjoyed it, as they were fascinated with the effects and dramatic aspect - but they also don't watch movies that often.
of course i am in the minority of the group that have seen avatar simply because i'm not going bonkers for it.
oh well, i suppose there will be a sequel to avatar 2.
i mean, there never was one for pocahontas - so let's see how that goes with an original script!

"i guess it's half timing, and the other half''s luck"

electronically addicted

XO; i had to redl the whoooole game because it wouldn't work and none of the FAQs were solving the problem ):

ah; my attempt at posting daily has already failed by an hour and 10 minutes.
balls.

mm; i like gaming.
i am no nerd or pro @ it.
and my knowledge/love for games is very beginner and basic.
i love games such as most playstation extensions (DDR, FF, KoH, GTA) & various computer games.
beatmania, GB emulators, SC, FFF and of course - my favourite MMORPG - ragnarok online~!!!

yum, i love ro.
i have played since the beta version.. sooo. when i was 10? (good grief.)
this game is some srs addiction though.
like once i start it - i can't stop it.
no matter how hard i try, my finger itches to kill porings & make cute headgear T_T;
* and by the way, there is now 3rd classes. -SQUEAL- not quite as pretty, but definitely the definition of excessive lolol, i can't wait to try it out.
currently i am downloading ro - augh i hate the wait for it i am SO impatient - and because the file is so freaking huge and my internet is a bit slow this download definitely takes its time.
1.5 gb is a harsh add on, yo.
although, me starting the game now doesn't look so promising for my academic lifestyle. D:
-sigh- good bye studying for finals X__X

i absolutely adore this game because not only do the graphics rock,
but its a pretty idiot proof system. (i mean. if i can play it, anyone can lolol)
the characters are so beyond cute, different hairstyles & jobs
the skills are cleverly named and are associated with whichever job you are
the monsters are graphically beautiful and creepy
AHHH. its just all so cute. :3

OI!
if anyone out there is playing on a ro server;
throw me the name (:!

ayo, i'm tired of using technology

XO; i understand this blog is a total failure since not only do i criticize my generation, i do not practice what i preach.
not going to lie - i think i've passed on plans so i could watch my favourite shows. T_T;
but in moderation people!

it's incredible to see all the advancements that have taken place since, well - let's go with the year i was born, 91.
advancements in fashion, music, food, business and most importantly - technology.

from a computer taking up the size of a room, to one fitting in the palm of your hand;
these inventions and advancements have literally taken over our world.
the convenience of it all has people glued to their computer screen, tv screen, or their game console.
networking sites, such as facebook, are an insane craze. obviously i am love with FB, i access it on my phone and unfortunately it is always the first site i check D:! yeah i think it's important to establish & network yourself with others, but if you want to develop something stronger, being able to talk face-to-face is a great trait (Y)
think about all of the reality shows out there (okay, yeah i definitely love my reality shows too X__X); some people would rather watch "Guid--" i mean... "The Jersey Shore" instead of grabbing a bite out to eat.
and i get it - COD is a god given game so i hear, but sometimes natural air & sunlight is good for you ;)

i think i've had more boyfriend/girlfriend situations over texting&msn&online than i have with real contact.
good grief.

obviously some things you can't avoid - such as long distance relationships where it is a necessity to rely on the use of a computer or a phone to sustain the connection ;
but baby, if you're in my hometown - let's go out for a change, hm?

"open up your heart and your mind to me,"

do i ever cross your mind?

XO; oboi, oboi.

regardless of the fact that i am a hopeless romantic,
i am unbelievably
romantically hopeless.

i've had my share of heartbreaks -
who's to say if i've been in love.
maybe i have, maybe i haven't.
i'm not familiar enough with my feelings towards others for me to even recognize what love is.
i guess i've only been an observer.

i think part of our existence on this world is to find our other half.
maybe not a soul mate,
maybe not a lover.
but someone who we don't have to run to - because they're always going to be there for you - no matter what.
someone that understands what you're saying without you having to even speak.
and someone that probably knows you better than you know yourself.

what happens after a relationship ends?
either with a lover, a friend or a family member.
how do you forget everything that was?
how do you move on so swiftly as if nothing happened.

hmm, maybe i will continue to add to this post -
i'm too lovesick to even process my thoughts.
