self indulgence

bleeeech.
i understand everyone's need to create life goals for themselves, challenges even!
but .. world's fattest mom?

..come again?

oh, sorry let me correct myself.
she's aiming, ideally, for world's fattest woman.
but will just as happily settle for the world's fattest mom.

first of all;
why do you need to be the world's fattest anything?
i'm sure she must be a cinch in for the world's fattest mom because clearly no family would support such a decision.
she's a 42 year old mother of two; preschool daughter and a teenage son.
i was watching the insider last night and they featured her story.
donna simpson, the mom, has a clear picture in her mind.
bigger means more beautiful to her;
but the way she is eating, and the amount she is eating to attain her goal, may leave her children with no one to look up to
at 600 pounds it also may not be the easiest to just turn your life around and suddenly become kirstie allie (and her plan to lose her weight) but that doesn't mean you eat yourself to death.

-sigh- what may be even worse than her self-motivation
is the fact that our generation is broadcasting her story.
i assume they are featuring her, in .. shock and awe,
but somehow i feel we are only encouraging her actions by providing her with that media light.

same goes for ms. octo mom
like really? do you need to have 14 babies?
not even just that - the media attention she is getting is disgusting.
she should only have as many children (that goes for everyone actually..) according to how she can provide for her family.
i don't think her lifestyle should be a charity case.
donate money where it is necessary and needed.
Cancer research, Diabetic health, AIDs in impoverished countries - but donating it to support a mother with 14 children?
she chose to have each and every one of those babies - it was no accident.
she should take full responsibilities for her actions and in doing so should know what is needed to provide a healthy, caring environment for her family.

AUGH. same with that TLC show
"19 kids and counting"
WHY.

our generation is disgusting.
our self indulgence is only a reflection of what our values appear to be.
plastic surgery, juvenille diabetes, lung cancer, drug addiction, drinking&driving and the list goes on.
we have this appalling mindset that
'i can do whatever i want. it's my body i know what's best for me. i'm invincible.'

i hope everyone makes healthy decisions in their life
healthy not always necessarily meaning "organic!" "vegetables!" "a straight edge lifestyle!"
but one where actions are done in moderation,

"show me your teeth"
